Wellalage dropped, Rajapaksa held in Sri Lanka T20I crew for New Zealand tour

Sri Lanka have named a generally unaltered 16-man T20I crew to venture out to New Zealand not long from now. Just Dunith Wellalage passes up a major opportunity from the crew that confronted a similar resistance at home the month before. The group is supposed to leave for New Zealand on December 20. While not a great explanation has been refered to for Wellalage's exclusion, all things considered, his twist bowling credits would have been less valuable in New Zealand's more crease cordial circumstances. Wellalage is as of now partaking in the Lanka T10 competition for Jaffna Titans. Aside from Wellalage, Sri Lanka's group - drove by Charith Asalanka - has a recognizable vibe. Pathum Nissanka, Kusal Mendis, Avishka Fernando, Kusal Perera, Kamindu Mendis and Asalanka contain the essential batting choices, while Chamindu Wickramasinghe is in line to assume a more unmistakable part than on late visits as the sole crease bowling allrounder. Strikingly, Bhanuka Rajapaksa held his situation in the crew in spite of ordinary exhibitions in the new Abu Dhabi T10, too in Sri Lanka's last series against New Zealand. While another inquisitive maintenance is Dinesh Chandimal, who, in spite of being named in ongoing crews, last played a T20I in February 2022. Wickramasinghe will enhance a fluctuated crease assault comprising of Matheesha Pathirana, Nuwan Thushara, Asitha Fernando and Binura Fernando. Spinners Wanindu Hasaranga, Maheesh Theekshana and Jeffrey Vandersay balance the crew. The initial two T20Is will occur in Mount Maunganui on December 28 and 30, preceding the activity moves to Nelson for the last match on January 2.
