Tata extends IPL title sponsorship deal till 2028

The Tata Group has extended its title sponsorship of the IPL for another five years, from 2024 to 2028, for INR 2500 crore (US$301 million approx.), making it the "highest-ever sponsorship amount in the history of the league," a BCCI statement said. The group were the IPL title sponsors in 2022 and 2023, and are also the title sponsors of the Women's Premier League (WPL). "The joint effort with Goodbye Gathering for the title sponsorship of IPL 2024-28 is a huge achievement in IPL's excursion," IPL director Arun Singh Dhumal said. "The record-breaking amount of INR 2500 crore by Goodbye Gathering is a demonstration of the tremendous worth and allure that the IPL holds in the realm of sports. "This exceptional sum not just sets another benchmark in that frame of mind of the association yet in addition reaffirms the IPL's situation as a chief game with worldwide effect. Goodbye Gathering's obligation to cricket and sports is genuinely admirable, and we anticipate scaling new levels together and giving fans unmatched cricketing amusement." The Goodbye Gathering had supplanted Vivo as IPL title backers for the last two seasons. The BCCI had briefly disavowed Vivo, a Chinese portable and innovation organization, following political pressures among India and China in June 2020. Vivo had initially sacked the title sponsorship for 2018 to 2022 for INR 2199 crores (US $341 million approx. at that point), yet for the 2020 season, it was supplanted by Dream 11, preceding Vivo returned for the 2021 season. Goodbye's offered for the following five years is a 13.7% leap over what Vivo had paid for 2018-22. "This joint effort epitomizes the soul of development, advancement, and a common commitment to greatness," BCCI secretary Jay Shah said. "The phenomenal monetary responsibility mirrors the gigantic scope and worldwide effect of the IPL on the global games stage." The 2024 IPL will be played from Walk 22 and run till the finish of May, not long before the men's T20 World Cup starts off on June 1.
