Sriram returns as Bangladesh's technical consultant ahead of World Cup

Former India left-arm spinner Sridharan Sriram has returned to the Bangladesh team as its technical consultant for the upcoming World Cup. Sriram will be joining the team in Guwahati on September 27, as Bangladesh begin their preparation for the two warm-up matches ahead of the tournament proper. The BCB's cricket activities administrator Jalal Yunus said that Sriram will give them nearby information and will report Khaled Mahmud, who returned as group chief recently. "Sriram has joined as the specialized expert. We will get a great deal of specialized help from him," Yunus said. "He knows every one of the wickets in India. He can educate us regarding the atmospheric conditions as well. Not many of our players have played in India, so his feedback will be very significant." Sriram is definitely not another face for Bangladesh cricket. In August 2022, he had joined as the specialized expert, however he was actually the group's lead trainer for T20Is. That came following he left his six-year spell as Australia's twist bowling trainer. He had directed Bangladesh through to the T20 World Cup in Australia, where they dominated two matches and were in conflict for a semi-last spot till their last gathering game. Despite the fact that Sriram didn't go on from that point forward, he stayed in the BCB's arrangements, particularly after Russell Domingo surrendered as the lead trainer last December. Also, when Chandika Hathurusinghe supplanted Domingo in February this year, there were still conversations that Sriram would be the T20I lead trainer before talks burnt out. Sriram likewise as of late joined as the associate mentor of the IPL establishment Lucknow Super Goliaths, so all things considered, his experience with the Bangladesh group will again be restricted to a World Cup. Come the World Cup, aside from Sriram, Bangladesh's reserved alcove staff will be driven by group chief Mahmud, and will incorporate lead trainer Hathurusinghe, colleague mentor Nic Pothas, quick bowling trainer Allan Donald, turn bowling trainer Rangana Herath, handling mentor Shane McDermott, and collaborator handling mentor Faisal Hossain.
