Sreesanth suspended for three years by Kerala Cricket Association (KCA)

The Kerala Cricket Association (KCA) has suspended former Indian pacer S. Sreesanth for three years, citing "false and derogatory" remarks he made regarding the association's role in Sanju Samson's exclusion from India's 2025 ICC Champions Trophy squad. The decision was made during a special general body meeting held on April 30, 2025, in Kochi. Sreesanth, who co-owns the Kollam Aries franchise in the Kerala Cricket League, had publicly criticized the KCA in a television interview, alleging that the association failed to support Samson, leading to his omission from the national team. The KCA clarified that the suspension was not due to Sreesanth's support for Samson but because of the "false and defamatory statements" he made against the association. In response to a show-cause notice issued in February 2025, Sreesanth's reply was deemed unsatisfactory by the KCA, leading to the suspension. Additionally, the KCA is pursuing legal action against Sanju Samson's father, Samson Viswanath, for making baseless allegations against the association in the same context. Sreesanth has stated that he was unaware of the suspension and is awaiting official communication from the KCA. He has indicated plans to seek legal recourse against the decision.
