Former Saurashtra captain and batter Sitanshu Kotak is set to join the India men's set-up as batting coach. Cricket has learned that Kotak, who is 52, will start with the five-match home T20I series against England which starts from January 22. Kotak, who resigned in 2013 after a top of the line profession crossing over 20 years, has been the batting mentor at the Public Cricket Foundation beginning around 2019. Kotak likewise was the lead trainer of a few India A visits and filled in as partner mentor to VVS Laxman when the last option helmed India's white-ball reciprocal commitment as lead trainer over the most recent couple of years. Kotak will be the fifth partner on the training staff which is driven by Gautam Gambhir, who assumed responsibility as the all-design lead trainer last August. At the time Gambhir got three right hand mentors: previous South Africa quick bowler Morne Morkel (bowling trainer), alongside previous India and Mumbai allrounder Abhishek Nayar and previous Netherlands and Essex chief Ryan ten Doeschate as collaborator mentors. T Dilip, who was the handling mentor during Rahul Dravid's residency, was held. The improvement comes not long after the BCCI led a survey meeting in Mumbai last end of the week to evaluate India's grievous run of series routs beginning with the white-ball misfortune in Sri Lanka, trailed by a phenomenal 3-0 loss in the Test series against New Zealand at home and afterward the 3-1 misfortune to Australia in the Line Gavaskar Prize. The India hitters' plunging structure - and resulting disappointments - was the vital explanation for those losses, and assumed a major part in the Test side passing up a World Test Title last billet. It is perceived that batting was among the huge focuses talked about during the survey meeting which included Gambhir, choice council head Ajit Agarkar and numerous from BCCI's VIP, including recently selected board secretary Devajit Saikia.
