Seales, McCoy handed WI retainer contracts
Cricket West Indies (CWI) have reported that they've offered worldwide retainer contracts for 2022-23 for all kinds of people. Among the new participants in this rundown in men's cricket incorporate Jayden Seales, Obed McCoy and Odean Smith
"For 2022-23, CWI has changed the Men's retainer contract construction to offer player contracts across all arrangements of cricket, contrasted with explicit red or white-ball contracts in earlier years. The proposal of retainer agreements to all players follows an Evaluation Period of exhibitions from 1 April 2021 to 31 March 2022, which is additionally upheld by insights from the past 2019 - 2020 Evaluation Period. With general retainer contracts, it provides us with a pool of gifted and devoted cricketers, who can take West Indies cricket forward in years to come," said Men's lead selector Desmond Haynes.
Also, contracts have been proposed to 18 Women players too, among which six are formative agreements.
"The selectors have put an extraordinary spotlight on the youthful creating players on the grounds that these are the ones who will assist with building the group as we look towards what's in store. The board accepts that the mix of experienced players and the arising players will give a decent base as we keep on getting ready groups for global matches and the T20 World Cup right on time one year from now," said the Women's lead selector Ann Browne-John.
