Rajapaksa recalled to ODI squad for Australia series
Bhanuka Rajapaksa procured a review, while Sri Lanka's U-19 captain Dunith Wellalage, a lady call-up to Sri Lanka's ODI crew after Sri Lanka Cricket named a 21-man crew for the impending five-match series against Australia. Dasun Shanaka will lead the crew in the series that will be a piece of the Cricket World Cup Super League.
After at first having had named a 26-part temporary crew for the T20Is and ODIs, they managed that down to 21 in front of the primary game planned to be played on June 14. Nuwan Thushara, Ashen Bandara, Janith Liyanage, Dhananjaya Lakshan and Sahan Arachchi passed up the crew for the 50-over series in the wake of being named in the temporary crew. Opener Pathum Nissanka also has gotten back to the ODI set-up subsequent to having passed up the Bangladesh and India Tests with a back physical issue.
Rajapaksa had last played an ODI for Sri Lanka against South Africa in Colombo in September last year prior to declaring his retirement from global cricket. He got back to the Sri Lankan overlap after a strong IPL where he scored 206 runs in 9 games, striking at 159.68. Notwithstanding, in the two T20Is up to this point, he has scores of 0 and 13. In the mean time, 19-year-old Wellalage has returned 34 five star wickets in 11 matches.
Sri Lanka had last played an ODI series against Zimbabwe in January this year, winning the series 2-1.
