The Pakistan Super League (PSL) has been relocated to the United Arab Emirates due to escalating tensions between India and Pakistan. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced this decision on May 9, 2025, citing security concerns and the well-being of players and staff. The move comes after a drone was reportedly neutralized near Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, which officials described as a "deliberate attempt to target domestic and foreign cricket players." Foreign players had expressed unease about continuing in Pakistan, with some, including Chris Jordan and David Willey, already departing the country. The remaining eight matches of PSL 2025, originally scheduled in Rawalpindi, Multan, and Lahore, will now be held in the UAE. This is not the first time the PSL has been moved to the UAE; similar relocations occurred in 2019 due to regional tensions. The PCB is coordinating with UAE authorities to finalize venues and logistics, ensuring the tournament concludes safely and without further disruption.
