Phil Salt will save wicket for Britain's T20I series against the West Indies, regardless of the arrival of Jos Buttler to the group. White-ball commander Buttler has kept in 106 of his beyond 108 T20 internationals, handling just in the two matches that occurred in Trinidad during Britain's past visit through the Caribbean in December 2023. "It's not something I've done a great deal for Britain as of late," Salt said in Barbados in front of the third ODI. "Be that as it may, I appreciate keeping. I feel like that is where I offer most aside." Salt has saved in 13 of his 59 games for Britain across designs and has been given the gloves in this ongoing ODI series in front of Jordan Cox, who will fill in for Test guardian Jamie Smith for the impending series in New Zealand. Buttler has been out for quite a long time with a calf strain. Had he been fit to play the T20 series against Australia in September, Salt would have kept wicket with Buttler quick to try different things with captaining from various situations on the field. At that point, Buttler said: "I planned to surrender the gloves and focus on being at mid-off and perceive how that felt. Assuming it will assist me with my captaincy it is something I'm available to." Buttler showed up in the Caribbean on Sunday and prepared at Kensington Oval on Monday. He isn't accessible for choice for the concluding ODI on Wednesday and will continue captaincy obligations in front of the five-match T20I series that beginnings on Saturday, showing up since Britain's loss in the T20 World Cup semi-last in June. Essex wicketkeeper-player Michael Pepper, initially just chose for the ODI crew, has been added to the T20 crew and will stay with the gathering until the end of the visit. Of whether his transition to keep is a drawn out choice, Salt said: "We've not had that talk about anything going ahead. I'm only delighted to do it right now." Salt made scores of 18 and 59 in the initial two ODIs, with his 50 years assisting with setting up Britain's pursuit of 329 to tie the series in the subsequent Antigua game. After Britain had been bowled out for 209 in the main match, commander Liam Livingstone had condemned the exhibition, saying that the group expected to "bat more astute".
