Mitchell Santner is expected to be fit and available for the start of the World Cup after scans cleared him of serious damage to his knee. Santner bumped his knee while handling during New Zealand's loss to Britain at the Ageas Bowl on Sunday and didn't highlight in the third ODI at The Oval on Wednesday thus. New Zealand battled in his nonappearance, with Ish Sodhi - the other cutting edge spinner in their temporary World Cup crew - resting at home. Glenn Phillips and Rachin Ravindra shared turn bowling obligations, and returned consolidated figures of 1 for 85 out of 10 overs. "Mitch had a full sweep on his knee, which he arrived on when he took that catch in the last game at the Ageas Bowl," Gary Stead, New Zealand's lead trainer, said. "It's returned decidedly, which is great as far as we're concerned. He's simply got a lot of expanding around the knee still, which they believe is a joint issue. It's just that." New Zealand's weighty loss followed the example of the visit, with significant spaces of triumph and rout in every one of the four T20Is and the initial three ODIs. "Each of the seven games have been a piece like that, haven't they?" Stead said. "We were simply saying, it would be good to really have a nearby one so we can see the two groups under tension. "It was frustrating that we didn't do our absolute best this evening however they played quite well. Ben Stirs up played an astonishing innings. "The two groups have made a move to change their line-ups a smidgen. With such a blocked time of games in a brief timeframe, we're positively aware of getting individuals to the World Cup without huge injury or hazard." One of only a handful of exceptional up-sides for New Zealand in their beyond two losses has been Trent Boult's consistent re-visitation of global cricket, having most as of late addressed his nation finally year's T20 World Cup. "I believe he's taken eight wickets in 17 overs," Stead said. "It's perfect to have Trent back: he brings a great deal of energy and a ton of expertise to the highest point of the request (sic) for us. "In the two games he's played, he's showed his capacity as a top notch player to overturn Britain… [but] we haven't had the option to gain by those beginnings."
