Nabi ruled himself out of Netherlands ODI

Mohammad Nabi has precluded himself from Afghanistan's forthcoming series three-match One-Day International (ODI) series against Netherlands so as to offer a more youthful player a chance. The Afghanistan Cricket Board declared a 18-player crew for the series, which is set to be played in Doha from January 21 to 25, on Sunday (January 15). Hashmatullah Shahidi was reported as the country's new ODI (and Test) skipper a year ago. Nabi's prohibition from the side follows 22-year pacer Naveen-ul-Haq's choice to move to one side from the 50-over design to focus on the 2022 T20 World Cup set to be played in Australia later in the year. The crew remembers a few uncapped cricketers for the ODI design, for example, Fazal Farooqi, Shahidullah Kamal and Hassan Riaz who's uncapped in all organizations. The three ODIs will shape a piece of the ICC Cricket World Cup Super League, through which the best seven groups separated from has India will qualify straightforwardly for the 2023 50-over World Cup. Afghanistan, who have played just three of the 24 ODIs, are right now positioned eleventh on the table. Squad: Azmatullah Omarzai, Farid Malik, Fazal Haq Farooqi, Gulbadin Naib, Hashmatullah Shahidi (c), Ikram Alikhail, Mujib ur Rahman, Najibullah Zadran, Qais Ahmad, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Rahmat Shah, Rashid Khan, Hassan Riaz, Salim Safi, Shahidullah Kamal, Sharafuddin Ashraf, Usman Ghani, Yamin Ahmadza
