Mohsin Naqvi likely to take over as PCB chairman

The revolving door at the head of the PCB is set to see a new man at the helm, with Mohsin Naqvi primed to take over as chairman when PCB elections are held. It is understood the elections could take place as early as next week. The situation at the top became empty when Zaka Ashraf quit last week, a fortnight before his most recent three-month expansion as director of the Break The board Panel (IMC) lapsed. He was initially selected top of the IMC in July last year, and the order of the ten-part body was to settle the Leading group of Lead representatives (Swamp) and direct decisions for the post of board administrator in four months or less. Nonetheless, when that objective couldn't be accomplished inside the time span, the board of trustees was allowed an additional three months to do as such by the supporter of the PCB, the overseer state head of Pakistan, Anwar ul Haq Kakar. Naqvi, 45, presently the overseer Boss Clergyman of Punjab, has been selected to the leading body of lead representatives' position Ashraf left empty, which would make ready for his political decision as director. He will keep on standing firm on his foothold in government regardless of whether, which would be considered normal, he wins the political decision for PCB administrator, essentially until general races in Pakistan are held, right now anticipated on February 8. PCB political race official Shah Khawar has accepted brief charge as administrator. He will lead a gathering at the PCB base camp at the Gaddafi Arena on Wednesday, with the timetable of PCB decisions expected to become more clear. Whenever decisions are held, the executive will be selected to a three-year term. Should Naqvi, who has never held a post in cricket organization, rise to the chairmanship, it will end a time of more than a year without an individual officially chosen as PCB executive. Ramiz Raja was eliminated in December 2022, with Najam Sethi turning into the top of the PCB The board Advisory group. He quit the post in June 2023 for political reasons, saying he didn't need the heads of two ideological groups who were then in alliance - the PPP and the PML-N - to drop out over him. It prompted Ashraf's arrangement, who might then direct a genuinely tumultuous term in which he was much of the time blamed for "outrageous misdeeds and unlawful choices". Aside from Naqvi, the other nine individuals from the IMC are Kalim Ullah Khan, Ashfaq Akhtar, Muhammad Mussadiq Islam, Azmat Pervez, Zaheer Abbas, Khawaja Nadeem, Mustafa Ramday, Zulfiqar Malik, and Khurram Karim Somroo.
