Mehidy encourages Bangladesh to learn from the West Indies' victory

Mehidy Hasan, a Bangladesh all-rounder, believes that a couple of strong partnerships will be enough to put runs on the board to fight back and win the first Test against Zimbabwe. He said that his team can take inspiration from their win in the previous Test against West Indies. After a disappointing first day, the hosts clawed their way back on day two. Thanks to Mehidy's five-wicket haul, they bowled Zimbabwe out for 273, limiting the lead. After that, they went into Stumps at 57/1, reducing the deficit to 25. "We must concentrate on forming partnerships. At first, they played well with the bat. However, our bowlers came back and halted their run flow. The wickets were then ours. 350-400 is possible if we bat correctly. Additionally, the 300-run target in a Test is challenging," Mehidy stated. The offspinner, who scored 5-52 in 20.2 overs, said that his goal was to stop the flow of runs and put pressure on the opposition, which eventually led to wickets. "It's always a great feeling to get wickets. To be honest, though, my expectations weren't too high. I made an effort to bowl in favorable areas and to assist my team. To get five wickets, you need to bowl in good areas and have luck. "Occasionally, we comprehend how to bowl on a particular wicket. We were also well guided by the coaches. After my first spell, we looked at the video footage. I discussed with the coaches whether my bowling speed is adequate for this pitch. On this surface, you can't get wickets quickly, but if you stop the runs, the batter might make a mistake. I probably took the wickets because of that mentality."
