Mayank Yadav Suffers Setback with Toe Injury, Delaying Recovery

Mayank Yadav's Recovery Delayed by Toe Injury, LSG Face Pace Dilemma Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) pacer Mayank Yadav's return from a back injury has been further delayed due to a new toe injury, but head coach Justin Langer remains hopeful of his availability in the latter half of IPL 2025. LSG's Fast-Bowling Crisis LSG will begin their campaign without four key Indian pacers: Mayank Yadav (back + toe injury) Mohsin Khan (injury) Avesh Khan (injury) Akash Deep (injury) Langer’s Perspective Langer acknowledged the setbacks but emphasized the need to adapt and manage resources efficiently: "Fast-bowling injuries are part of the game. You don’t hope for them, but you prepare for them. We may have to tweak our game plan, but we’re optimistic that as the tournament progresses, we’ll have some of these excellent bowlers returning." LSG will now have to rely on their available pace options and potential backups as they start their IPL 2025 campaign against Delhi Capitals in Vizag. Mayank Yadav's Return Delayed Further by Freak Toe Injury Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) speedster Mayank Yadav has suffered a setback in his recovery from a back injury after injuring his toe in an accident at home, head coach Justin Langer has revealed. Freak Injury Delays Comeback Yadav, who stunned IPL audiences in 2024 by regularly clocking 150 kph+ speeds and winning back-to-back Player-of-the-Match awards in his first two matches, was already recovering from a back injury. However, a toe injury caused by accidentally kicking his bed led to an infection, further delaying his return. Langer's Update on Mayank "Mayank was going quite well coming back from a back injury, and then he kicked his toe on the bed. He got an infection in his toe, which has set his rehab back by a week or two." Despite the delay, Langer remains hopeful of Yadav's return later in IPL 2025, adding: "He's up and running. We regularly see videos of him bowling. I saw a video of him yesterday. Hopefully, by the back end of the tournament, he'll be ready to go for us." LSG's Bowling Woes Continue With four first-choice Indian pacers—Mayank Yadav, Mohsin Khan, Avesh Khan, and Akash Deep—unavailable, LSG faces a fast-bowling crisis heading into their season opener against Delhi Capitals in Vizag.
