Lord's to host 2026 Women's T20 WC final

Lord's Cricket Ground in London is set to host the final of the ICC Women's T20 World Cup on July 5, 2026. This marks a significant return to the iconic venue, which last hosted a women's World Cup final in 2017. The tournament will run from June 12 to July 5, 2026, featuring 12 teams competing across 33 matches over 24 days . In addition to Lord's, six other venues across England will host matches: Old Trafford (Manchester), Headingley (Leeds), Edgbaston (Birmingham), The Oval (London), Hampshire Bowl (Southampton), and Bristol County Ground. This expanded list of venues reflects the growing popularity and support for women's cricket in the UK . Eight teams have already secured their spots in the tournament: England (hosts), Australia, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka, and West Indies. The remaining four teams will be determined through a qualifying tournament scheduled for 2025 . The 2026 edition will be the tenth Women's T20 World Cup and the first to feature 12 teams, up from 10 in previous editions. The tournament format includes a group stage with two groups of six teams each, followed by knockout rounds leading to the final . The selection of Lord's as the final venue is symbolic, harking back to the memorable 2017 Women's Cricket World Cup final held there, which was a landmark event in the rise of women's cricket .
