ICC confirm Caribbean venues for 2024 T20 World Cup
Antigua & Barbuda, Barbados, Dominica, Guyana, Saint Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, and Trinidad & Tobago have been confirmed as the Caribbean venues for the 2024 T20 World Cup to be held in the West Indies and the USA. The ICC had earlier announced the three US venues - Dallas, Florida and New York.
The opposition includes upwards of 20 groups and will run from June 4 to June 30. The two host nations get programmed capability, alongside the main eight groups of the 2022 T20 World Cup - Australia, Britain, India, Netherlands, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa and Sri Lanka. The following two groups - Bangladesh and Afghanistan - procured their capability in view of their T20I rankings toward the finish of the last T20 World Cup. Ireland, Scotland and Papua New Guinea booked their spots through the Qualifiers. Five additional spots are not entirely settled, in light of the Americas Qualifier, Asia Qualifier and Africa Qualifier.
Talking about the scenes for the multi-group occasion, ICC CEO Geoff Allardice said: "We're happy to declare the seven Caribbean settings that will have the greatest ICC Men's T20 World Cup at any point organized, with 20 groups going after the prize. They're all famous scenes with players and fans the same that will give a brilliant background to the occasion.
"This will be the third ICC senior men's occasion facilitated by the West Indies, and the matches will again give cricket fans the exceptional experience of appreciating cricket in the Caribbean. Johnny Grave, the President of Cricket West Indies Chief, added: "This is a thrilling second as we report the scenes supported to have the biggest ICC Men's T20 World Cup ever, with 20 groups playing in 55 matches in June one year from now.
"We are thankful to the host Legislatures of the Caribbean for their mind-boggling reactions and energy for facilitating what will be the main game held in our locale for an age.
"We are sure that together we will convey an elite competition exhibiting the best this locale brings to the table with our extraordinary culture and festival climate that will guarantee there is a genuine festival of the game next June," said Grave.
