Hathurusinghe suspended as Bangladesh head coach

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has suspended Chandika Hathurusinghe as the lead trainer of the men's public group with quick impact. The improvement comes after Bangladesh's frustrating visit through India where they were whitewashed in the Tests and T20Is by monstrous edges. Previous West Indies cricketer Phil Simmons, who has had training spells with Zimbabwe, Afghanistan and West Indies, has been named as the break lead trainer with the agreement set to run till the 2025 Heroes Prize. Hathurasinghe's leave denotes a disappointing finish to his concise second spell as Bangladesh mentor with the significant failures being the 2023 ODI World Cup and the 2024 T20 World Cup. The previous Sri Lankan all-rounder had assumed control over the reins in January 2023 with a guide of moving Bangladesh cricket forward, similar to he had during his most memorable stretch from 2014-17. During that period, the public group gained critical headway, especially in white-ball cricket with amazing appearances in the 2017 Bosses Prize, accordingly acquiring programmed capability to the 2019 ODI World Cup. Simmons' new stretch in the training arrangement was with his own West Indies side whom he helmed from 2019 till the finish of the Australian visit this year. His quick task will be the two-match Test series at home against South Africa this month.
