Hardik banned for MI's slow over rate, will miss first game next season

Hardik Pandya, the Mumbai Indians captain, has been banned for one match for his team's slow over rate against Lucknow Super Giants at the Wankhede Stadium. MI have already played their last match of IPL 2024, which means Hardik will miss the team's first match next season. On the off chance that Hardik moves to one more group for the following season, he will miss that specific group's most memorable game. It was the third time this IPL that MI neglected to keep a base over rate. Subsequently, Hardik, aside from the one-match boycott, was fined INR 30 lakhs and the remainder of the playing XII, including the Effect Player, were each separately fined either INR 12 lakhs or half of their individual match charges, whichever is lesser. It was a forgettable season for both MI and Hardik. The 18-run rout to LSG implied MI wrapped up with only four dominates from their 14 matches and completed at the lower part of the focuses table. Hardik, who had come in as a pre-season exchange and had assumed control over captaincy from Rohit Sharma, was booed by the Wankhede swarm all through the competition. On the field, he scored 216 runs at a normal of 18.00 and a strike pace of 143.04. With the ball, he took 11 wickets at an economy of 10.75. Mark Boucher, MI lead trainer, likewise conceded that the off-field commotion could have "blurred" Hardik and had an impact in the group's "less than impressive" execution.
