Craig Ervine named full-time Zimbabwe limited-overs captain

Craig Ervine has been named as Zimbabwe's full-time restricted overs skipper while Sean Williams will keep on driving the Test side. Regis Chakabva will be the bad habit skipper in every one of the three configurations. Ervine has driven Zimbabwe in only one Test - where they lost by an innings in Bangladesh - and has been in charge for 15 matches. He's won six, lost eight up until this point and was named skipper for the voyages through Ireland, Scotland and Sri Lanka. In another turn of events, Lance Klusener has rejoined Zimbabwe as batting mentor and will take over from Stuart Matsikenyeri, who is currently the associate mentor. Lalchand Rajput keeps on being the lead trainer of the side. Klusener was with the side from 2016 to 2018 and was functioning as the lead trainer of the Afghanistan public group. Zimbabwe Cricket is yet to conclude the bowling trainer for the side. In the interim, Mary-Anne Musonda will fill in as the chief of the ladies' group with Josephine Nkomo named as her agent. For the ladies' side, Gary Brent will assume control over the job of lead trainer from Adam Chifo. The 46-year-old played four Tests, 70 ODIs and three T20Is for Zimbabwe somewhere in the range of 1999 and 2008. Sinikiwe Mpofu will be the associate mentor while Trevor Garwe and Trevor Phiri will function as bowling and handling mentors individually. Phiri will likewise function as the lead trainer of the Under-19 Women's side while previous Zimbabwe player Prosper Utseya will be the lead trainer of the men's Under-19 side.
