BCCI yet to Decide on India's Asia Cup Participation

BCCI has officially denied reports suggesting India's withdrawal from the upcoming Asia Cup and the Women's Emerging Teams Asia Cup. BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia clarified that no discussions have taken place regarding India's participation in these Asian Cricket Council (ACC) events. He emphasized that the BCCI's current focus is on the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) and the forthcoming England series for both men's and women's teams . These statements were made in response to media reports claiming that the BCCI had decided to pull out of ACC events due to escalating tensions between India and Pakistan. Some reports suggested that the decision was influenced by the ACC being headed by Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, who also serves as Pakistan's Interior Minister However, the BCCI has dismissed these reports as speculative and baseless, asserting that no such decisions have been made or communicated to the ACC . The 2025 Men's Asia Cup is scheduled for September, with India as the defending champions. The tournament will feature eight teams, including Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Hong Kong, Oman, and the United Arab Emirates .
