Muzarabani returns for Afghanistan ODIs

Blessing Muzarabani has returned to the Zimbabwe squad for the upcoming limited-overs series against Afghanistan at home, Zimbabwe Cricket announced on Thursday (June 2). Muzarabani was not available for the recent T20I series against Namibia as a result of his IPL stint but will now lead the pace attack against the Asian side. Zimbabwe also received a boost with skipper Craig Ervine declared fit to take part in the three-match ODI series. Ervine had missed the final T20I against Namibia after testing positive for Covid-19. Ryan Burl, who had also tested positive and missed the final two games, will return to the setup. However, Sean Williams will continue to be absent for the national side after ZC extended his compassionate leave to attend to personal matters. Zimbabwe will also be without Richard Ngarava and Wellington Masakadza as they are yet to recover from their injuries. The ODI series, that comes under the Cricket World Cup Super League, will kickstart on June 4 at the Harare Sports Club. Following the conclusion of the series, the two teams will then meet in a three-match T20I series at the same venue, beginning on June 11. Squad: Craig Ervine (captain), Ryan Burl, Regis Chakabva, Tendai Chatara, Tanaka Chivanga, Luke Jongwe, Takudzwanashe Kaitano, Clive Madande, Wesley Madhevere, Blessing Muzarabani, Dion Myers, Ainsley Ndlovu, Sikandar Raza, Milton Shumba, Donald Tiripano
