IPL 2021 league game for both teams, which was played at Sharjah Cricket
Stadium in October 7, 2021. KKR won the match by 86 runs. Knocked out not only
RR but also Punjab Kings (PBKS) from the elimination race and made it almost

RR made
four changes bringing in Chris Morris, Anuj Rawat, Jaydev Unadkat, and Liam
Livingstone in the playing XI. KKR, on the other hand, made a change with the
return of Lockie Ferguson in place of Tim Southee.
KKR openers Venkatesh Iyer (38, 2 sixes, and 3 fours) and Shubman Gill (56, 4 fours, and 2 sixes) chased down the leather with the first ball and added 79 runs for the opening wicket in 11 overs when Iyer hit Tewatia Hands fell. Gill continued his batting while Rana was dismissed for 12. Rahul Tripathi scored a quick 21 while Dinesh Karthik and Eoin Morgan gave KKR a quick finish with 14* and 13* respectively as KKT finished with 171/4 in 20 overs, in Sharjah this IPL 2021 highest score.

Hasan struck early, dismissed the dangerous Yashasvi Jaiswal for a duck and the
KKR bowlers again did not allow the RR bowlers to dominate a bit. Only Shivam
Dubey and Rahul Teotia reached double digits as RR were bundled out for 85.
Dubey made 18, while Tewatia scored 44 runs with the help of 5 fours and 2
sixes.

win, KKR's net run rate reached 0.587 which is the highest for any team in this
IPL 2021. MI wanted KKR to lose this match so that they could beat Sunrisers
Hyderabad in their last league match and go to the playoffs. KKR just needed a
win and they did it brilliantly.
How can Mumbai Indians surpass KKR's NRR and
qualify for the play-offs?
Now for
Mumbai Indians to make it to the playoffs, they have to beat SRH by 171 runs if
they bat first and score 200 runs in 20 overs. However, if SRH wins the toss
and bats first, MI cannot chase down the target in any over to improve KKR's
NRR. Looks like the door to playoffs is closed for Rohit Sharma and his team.
