Taylor, who made his debut in 2004,
played 34 Tests, 204 ODIs, and 45 T20Is - after which he became one of
Zimbabwe's finest cricketers. Before his last international assignment as a
player against Ireland, Taylor has a chance to finish as Zimbabwe's leading
run-getter in the 50-over format (currently 109 runs behind Andy Flower). With
11 centuries in his account, the 34-year-old is already the country's leading
century scorer in the format.
He is the fourth-highest run-scorer
for Zimbabwe in Tests, having scored 2320 runs in 34 matches, and third in
T20Is behind Hamilton Masakadza and Sean Williams.
"With a heavy heart I announce that tomorrow is my last match for my beloved country," Taylor said in a Twitter post on Sunday. "17 years of extreme highs and extreme lows and I wouldn't change that for the world.

"It has taught me to be humble, to always remind myself how lucky I was to be in the position I was in. Wearing the badge with pride and leaving everything on the field. My goal was always to leave the team in one in a better shape than when I first came back in 2004, I hope I did."
Taylor, who was Zimbabwe's leading
run-getter in the 2015 ICC World Cup, signed up for Nottinghamshire as a Kolpak
player and stayed for three seasons before returning to the national team to
increase his bid in the 2019 ICC World Cup Qualifiers had played.
Taylor played a brilliant knock of
49 runs in the opening ODI of the current series to help Zimbabwe lead the
series 1-0. While the rain played poorly in the second game, Taylor will be
hoping that he can help his side win the series and, in turn, wind up his
career to a higher level.
